Antecedents of Trust in the Ridesharing Service: The Moderating Effect of User Experience

    Get PDF
Trust has been recognized as a significant factor in the sharing economy. However, there is still a lack of research that empirically examines the critical antecedents of trust in the ridesharing service, especially in China. Drawing upon Zucker (1986)’s trust building framework, this study develops a theoretical model to examine four antecedents, regarding structural assurance, government support, platform reputation and disposition to trust, on users’ trust beliefs and continuance intention of ridesharing. 307 valid data was collected in one of the largest ridesharing platforms in China, and structural equation modelling method was used to examine the research model. Empirical results suggest that platform reputation is the most significant antecedent of trust, followed by government support, structural assurance and disposition to trust. Specifically, user experience positively moderates the impact of structural assurance on trust, while negatively moderates the influences of government support and platform reputation on trust. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section

Non-classical properties and algebraic characteristics of negative binomial states in quantized radiation fields

We study the nonclassical properties and algebraic characteristics of the negative binomial states introduced by Barnett recently. The ladder operator formalism and displacement operator formalism of the negative binomial states are found and the algebra involved turns out to be the SU(1,1) Lie algebra via the generalized Holstein-Primarkoff realization. These states are essentially Peremolov's SU(1,1) coherent states. We reveal their connection with the geometric states and find that they are excited geometric states. As intermediate states, they interpolate between the number states and geometric states. We also point out that they can be recognized as the nonlinear coherent states. Their nonclassical properties, such as sub-Poissonian distribution and squeezing effect are discussed. The quasiprobability distributions in phase space, namely the Q and Wigner functions, are studied in detail. We also propose two methods of generation of the negative binomial states.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figures, Accepted in EPJ

What Promotes Customers’ Trust in The Mobile Payment Platform: An Empirical Study Of Alipay In China

Trust was recognized as a significant factor in facilitating customers’ continuance intention of mobile payment. Drawing upon innovation diffusion and trust theory, this study developed a research model to examine five critical antecedents that promote customers’ trust in the mobile payment platform. An empirical survey was conducted in China and structural equation modelling method was used to examine the research model. 394 questionnaires were collected from users of Alipay, which is one of the largest mobile payment platforms in China. The analysis results suggest that security is the most significant antecedent of trust, followed by platform reputation. In addition, mobility and customization characteristics are also beneficial to promote customers’ trust in the mobile payment platform. While compatibility is directly associated with customers’ continuance intention without mediated by trust. Conclusions and future research directions are discussed in the final section

This study investigates gender differences issue regarding the effect of platform characteristics on trust and continuance intention in the context of mobile payment. Drawing upon innovation diffusion and trust theory, a research model is developed to examine four significant antecedents of trust for male and female users. An empirical survey was conducted and 740 valid questionnaires were collected from users of Alipay and Wechat pay, which are recognized as two leading mobile payment platforms in China. Structural equation modelling analysis results suggest that security is the most significant antecedent of customers’ trust, followed by platform reputation, mobility and customization. Specifically, a multi-group analysis results indicate that mobility and reputation have more significant influence on trust for males, while customization and security are more important in promoting trust for females. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section

Impact of Interactivity on Guanxi Network Building in the Wechat Moments: A Social Capital Perspective

Mobile social platform such as Wechat Moments has gained great popularity in China in the past few years. However, there are still a lack of studies that focus on Guanxi network building in the virtual social community. Drawing upon interactivity and social capital theory, this study develops a research model to examine the influence of perceived interactivity on users\u27 social capital and Guanxi network in the Wechat Moments. An empirical survey was conducted in China and 287 valid data were collected from Wechat users. Structural equation modelling analysis was used to test the research model. The empirical results suggest that interactivity has a strong influence on social interaction and shared understanding, which in turn promote users\u27 Guanxi network in the Wechat Moments. A post-hoc analysis further suggests that the influence of interactivity on Guanxi network is contingent upon network size. Theoretical and practical implications are illustrated in the final section

Transformational Leadership and IS Extended Use-The Mediating Role of Job Autonomy and Moderating Role of IT Innovativeness

Drawing upon transformational leadership and job characteristics theory, this study develops a research model to examine the impact mechanism of direct supervisor’s leadership behaviors on employees’ extended use of information systems. A field survey was conducted in China and empirical data was collected from 299 employees from both IT and non-IT industries. Structural equation modelling analysis results suggest that transformational leadership is positively associated with employees’ perception of job autonomy, which in turn promote IS extended use. Specifically, IT innovativeness is identified as a significant moderator that strengthens the relationship between transformational leadership and IS extended use. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section

Trust Building in the Car-Sharing Platform: An Empirical Study in China

This study draws upon institution-based trust theory to examine the impact of four institutional mechanisms and social influence on customers’ trust formulation and continuance intention in the car-sharing platform. Data was collected from 307 customers in DiDi-which is one of the largest sharing platforms for travelling in China, and structural equation modeling statistical method was used to test the research model. The empirical results suggest that feedback mechanism and surge pricing are the most significant antecedents in building customers’ trust, followed by payment security, driver certification and social influence. Further, customers’ trust in the car-sharing platform is positively associated with their continuance intention. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section
